Thoughts on Route 7 (Super 7):

• The exits are numbered out of order. It's not something you notice since you don't pass more than two exits on this, but travel it enough and it shows as another example of the fine workmanship by Connecticut's DOT.
• At first it might seem odd that, since the signs on I-84 indicate this to be Routes 7 and 202, that the last exit say "TO 202." You're already on it, right? Wrong. It's not signed anywhere, but US 202 exits at Exit 11 and follows Federal Road up. What irks me about thesre signs is that the road at the end of Exit 12's ramp is US 202. The "TO" is unnecessary.
• Work is supposed to begin on extending this expressway north to the New Milford / Brookfield line. This will smooth traffic flow around the "Four Corners" intersection in Brookfield, currently a slowdown spot at rush hour and Saturdays. (But then again, so is the rest of Federal Road.) Plans then call for the widening and beautfication of 7/202 north to Veteran's Bridge in New Milford, where they split up.

There are no exit numbers on this stretch of highway. Mainly because it's not long by any stretch of the imagination - maybe a mile at most. Originally, this was the beginning of a (badly needed) highway to connect Danbury to Norwalk. It'll never happen because the stretch immediately south is a wetland. There are some plans underfoot to widen it to a 2+2 combination, but I'm not holding out hope for it. I plan to move to Westport before then. ;-)
